BRUSH UP ON BRUSHES: POWDER

Brush up on Brushes: Step 3: Powder Brushes

The key to a smooth, sleek makeup application is understanding the tools that are available. A race car driver couldn’t keep speed if he (or she) didn’t understand how to get from 1st to 3rd gear. Be the first at the beauty finish line, optimize your brush set by learning each brush and its function.

Powder brushes are essential for a pristine makeup application. A coarse, short haired brush can be used to buff out liquid foundation or to create a silky matte finish when used with a powder foundation. This application, if applied heavily will look slightly weighty, powdery and more matte.

The longer and more flexible the brush hair, the more sheer and light weight the powder application. Longer brush hair gives less resistance. Be sure not to overuse product which can cause spillage. Less is always more when using loose powders in conjunction with lengthy hair powder brushes.
